Everton and Monaco reach agreement for USA striker Folarin Balogun
Everton have reached an agreement with Monaco over United States international Folarin Balogun, with the price put at £40m by the BBC and reported elsewhere as closer to €50m with add-ons, days before the transfer window closes.

Everton have agreed a price with Monaco for United States international striker Folarin Balogun, 25, the BBC reported, describing the deal as worth £40m.
Other reporting on the move, relayed via Get French Football News and Yahoo Sports and citing journalist Fabrizio Romano, valued the deal differently: a €45m base payment plus €5m in add-ons, with Monaco also retaining a percentage of any future sale. Balogun is said to be finalising personal terms ahead of a return to England, with the European transfer window due to close on 1 September.
From Arsenal's academy to Monaco and back
Balogun, born in New York City and a product of Arsenal's academy, joined Monaco from Arsenal in the summer of 2023. He went on to make 91 appearances for the Ligue 1 club across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing 13 assists, and is under contract with Monaco until 2028.
He also featured for the United States at this summer's World Cup, scoring three goals and providing one assist, and has won 31 caps for the USMNT.
