HHLA Project Logistics launches new office in Kazakhstan
Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA)’s subsidiary, HHLA Project Logistics, has opened a new office in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The new location was inaugurated in a celebratory event on 23 February.
The new office further expands HHLA Project Logistics’ network, which already extends across the Caucasus region.
The location forms a link between Europe, the Caucasus region, and Central Asia, after the company had previously opened offices in Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The railway connections through Kazakhstan will enable the company to offer a wider range of services from Almaty, as more goods are being transported via the Silk Road from Central Asia to Europe and vice versa.
“We are very happy to expand the network of HHLA Project Logistics,” said Managing Director HHLA International, Philip Sweens.
“The opening event was a great way to get to know potential partners and customers in the region. With the new office in Almaty, we have access to one of the most important markets in Central Asia,” Sweens added.
This inauguration comes more than a month after HHLA announced that its innovation unit, HHLA Next, is investing in an automated logistics start-up FERNRIDE.
