White House: Biden-Xi Talk Could Take Place in ‘Not Too Distant’ Future
Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Jake Sullivan said that in the foreseeable future, a telephone conversation between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping could take place . It is reported by NBC .
“Nothing specifically is scheduled at this time, but I expect the two leaders to have a conversation in the not-too-distant future,” Sullivan said.
Earlier, the US President said that the peace plan presented by China for Ukraine is not beneficial to anyone except Russia . He also recounted a conversation he had with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the summer of 2022, in which he warned him of the economic implications of Russian aid.
On February 24, the Chinese Foreign Ministry presented a 12-point plan to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. It included calls for a ceasefire, the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, the resumption of direct dialogue between Moscow and Kiev , and a number of other steps.
